Picture 1.pngKerri Hedden paints the landscape en plein air, working outside to capture the beauty of California’s Central Coast on canvas.   “Painting en plein air gives me the opportunity to fully enjoy nature and to deepen my understanding of its complexities.” 

Born in Santa Barbara, California in 1957, Kerri explored visual art throughout her early education. She studied art and design at Santa Barbara City College and the School of Architecture at Cal Poly, SLO.  Ongoing studies includes landscape painting and life drawing classes at Santa Barbara City College Adult Education and plein air painting workshops with painters Meredith and Whitney Abbott, Marcia Burtt, John Comer, Michael Drury, Larry Iwerks, Randall Sexton, Ray Strong and others. 

Kerri is a member of the Santa Barbara Art Association and SCAPE (Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment) and the California Art Club. Concerned about preserving open spaces for future generations, she regularly donates a percentage of her sales to organizations dedicated to land preservation. Kerri and her husband reside in the ocean side community of Summerland, CA with their three teenage children.
